John Thomas Seay:

John Is Survived By His Children,Coral Hagen Of Lake Mills, Iowa; Gayneta Ivey Of Sacramento, Ca, Thomas Seay Of Sacramento; Sylva Harris Of Cherry Valley, Ny And John Sidney Seay Of Polson, Mt And Numerous Grandchildren And Great Grandchildren. He Was Preceded In Death By His Wife Of 68 Years, Gaytha Garrett Seay, His 7 Siblings And His Parents. He Was Born In Mississippi To William And Lula Belle (Whittington) Seay On July 7, 1915. The Family Moved To Texas When John Was A Child Where They Remained Throughout John's School Years Where The Parents Had A Cotton Farm. On August 6, 1939 John Married Gaytha Garrett In Roswell, New Mexico. After Farming For Awhile With His Father, He Entered The Ministry And After Attending School He Moved His Young Family, Wife And Two Children, To California To Begin What Became His Life's Work, Organizing Baptist Churches From Southern To Northern California Over A Period Of Years. The Last Church He And Gaytha Established Was The Anna Street Baptist Church In West Sacramento, Ca.

Graveside Services Will Be Held Monday, February 27, 2011 At 10:00 A.m. At Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Ca 95628. Following The Graveside, There Will Be A Gathering Of Family And Friends At The Anna Street Baptist Church, 1400 Anna Street, West Sacramento, Ca 95605. River Cities Funeral Chapel Is Honored To Serve John's Family.
