Timothy Roy AriasOn December 16, 2017, our Heavenly Father called Timothy Roy Arias home, much sooner than we expected. As the song says, Heaven needed a hero.

Timothy (Tim, Timmy), 49, was born in Novato, Ca.; grew up in Fairfield, Ca.; graduated from Fairfield High School in 1988; and in 1996 married his loving wife Emma, of 22 years. In 2001, they became residents of West Sacramento, when they purchased their home together. While this was a long commute for Tim, from West Sacramento to Martinez (Tesoro/Andeavor Martinez Oil Refinery), their priority was raising their beautiful family, building memories together, in a safe, up and coming community. Tim and Emma are pillars for our family, their church, and the community. Tim so loved being part of the worship team at his church, mentoring the youth, and advocating for the safety of his fellow workers in his work environment.

Husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, disciple, mentor, advocate, pillar of strength and resolve, man of God, great human being, drummer, singer, prankster, union steward and rep, and lead refinery technician. Passionate, hard-working, honorable, funny, generous, inspiring, uplifting, loving, and persevering man of his word ~ these are all attributes of our Timothy.

At the time of his unexpected death, his wife Emma was in England, putting her father to rest. After hearing of the news, she immediately rushed home, with her sister Paula, to be with the children. After which, family and friends gathered together to comfort and console each other for their loss.

Tim leaves behind his wife Emma Arias; children Vanessa (29 yrs), Alannah (20 yrs), Jesse (17 yrs), Jordan, (14 yrs), and Blake (10 yrs); father Gabriel V. Arias Sr.; brothers and sisters Victor Arias Jr., Connie Mock, Lilly Weber, Cecilia and Jeffrey Dennis, Paula Haynes-Booth, Nichole and AJ McGilvrey; and grandchildren Angelina, Javon, Iana and Nicolette. He is preceded in death by his mother Candida Arias; brother Vincent Joseph Arias; and brothers-in-law Alan Mock and Anthony Weber

Tim impacted and blessed the lives of so many and left such an amazing mark on us. His smile lit up the room. His generous and loving heart was evident by his actions. As Emma said, “Tim’s love for God and for his family was beyond explanation. He truly surrendered his everything every day.” He died on the freeway, but the chains of death were broken, as he has risen to be at the thrones of God, in Heaven. We will see Tim, and all of our loved ones, again. For the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
