 | Nancy J. Redmon was born on December 26,1944 and passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on October 5, 2025. Born to Alvin and Hannah Collins, Nancy was a lifelong resident of West Sacramento (Bryte and Broderick). She graduated from James Marshall High School in 1962 where she lettered in softball. Nancy went on to work for the State of CA (PERS) where she retired in 1997. After retirement, Nancy went on to work two seasons for the Sacramento River Cats. Her love of baseball and softball showed on the field with her years of managing and coaching for both of her kids' baseball and softball teams. She loved the game so much, she continued to coach for the Washington Softball League. When Nancy wasn't coaching, she could be found watching the S.F. Giants, college softball, Little League World Series, and her favorite was attending and cheering on her grandsons at their games. Her love of sports extended with the Sacramento Kings and the S.F. 49ers.
Nancy is survived by her partner of 35 years, Mike Abbey, son Ed Redmon (Tammy), daughter Rachelle Redmon, grandsons Karl Redmon and Jake Redmon, niece Lorraine Phillips (Bob Brack) nephews Dennis Phillips, Gary Phillips (Collette), and grandniece Chelsea Kennedy (Kevin).
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Tuesday October 28, 2025 at 11:00am at River Cities Funeral Chapel located at 910 Soule St. West Sacramento. |
